Creating a Roommate Group on the Bulk Unit Assignment (BUA) Board
The Bulk Unit Assignment (BUA) board simplifies the unit assignment and notification process for student properties. Before you begin making assignments, you may want to create roommate groups.
To view the BUA in Entrata, go to Residents >> Bulk Unit Assignments.
Creating a Roommate Group
The assignment list allows you to create and edit roommate groups. You can drag and drop a group from the assignment list to their unit. Groups display in the assignment list below renewal transfer students. Entrata recommends creating groups before beginning the assignment process.
- In Entrata, go to Residents >> Bulk Unit Assignments.
- To find available units, select an option from each drop-down menu at the top of your screen:
- Property
- Lease Term
- Floor Plan
- If desired, narrow down the list of available units and unassigned residents by selecting an option from the Space Configuration and the Unit Space Amenity drop-down menus.
- Select an option under Unit Gender. This setting defaults to All.
- To refine the assignment list results further, click Filters Applied on the left side of the screen to open the Roommate Interest Filters window.

- In the Roommate Interests Filters window, select the desired option(s) from the drop-down menus in each section.
- If desired, enter a date range using the calendars to filter your search results further.
- Click Apply Filters to update the assignment list.

- In the assignment list, click the name of a current or future resident.
- In the Resident Record or Lead Record window, click Create Roommate Group.
- In the Create Roommate Group window, click the add icon in-line with each resident you want to add to the roommate group.
- You can use the search field at the top of the screen to find a specific resident.
- When finished, click Save Group. The grouped students display on the assignment list together in a gray box.
- After you add a resident to a group, the Create Group option in the Assign To pop-up window is replaced by the following option:
- Edit Roommate Group: This option allows you to add or remove residents from a group as desired.

Editing a Roommate Group
You can make changes to an existing roommate group before assigning the group to a unit.
- Click the edit icon in-line with the desired roommate group in the Assignment List column.
- In the Edit Roommate Group window, click the delete icon next to a roommate to remove them from the group.
- To add a roommate to the group, use the search field to look up their name and click the add icon next to their name.
- Click Save Group when you're finished making changes.
